In another class, we were discussing "authenticity" and I immediately thought of the live performance of Ashlee Simpson on Saturday Night Live which led to her downfall as a singer due to the reveal that she had been lip singing the entire time. Curious about the connections between liveness on television itself in relation to the notion of "authenticity," and if anyone has any thoughts on the matter.
